发布时间:2025-05-28 08:17

On May 22, the 2025 "Melodic Harmony and Graceful Dance - Dunhuang Music and Dance Cultural Theme Exhibition" opened at Hsuan Chuang University in Taiwan.

The exhibit is organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, the Dunhuang Research Institute and the Taiwan Shen Chun Chi Cultural and Educational Foundation. Over 100 faculty members, students, and cultural and art figures attended the opening.

The exhibition focuses on the theme of "music and dance," featuring three main exhibition areas: "Silk Road Wanderings", "Pure Land Sounds" and "Colorful Melodies", guiding visitors through a journey spanning thousands of years and immersing them in the magnificent scenes of Dunhuang murals and musical dance art. Through replicas of musical instruments, cave models, mural reproductions, and multimedia presentations, the exhibition provided an immersive experience for visitors to appreciate the artistic charm of Dunhuang murals and the profound cultural heritage of Dunhuang. This allows visitors in Taiwan to closely appreciate the rich and unique charm of Dunhuang culture. The "Silk Road Wanderings" section showcases the magnificent Dunhuang landscapes and the challenging process of carving the grottoes, recreating the glorious past of the Silk Road. The "Pure Land Sounds" section primarily exhibits ancient musical instruments restored from murals, such as the pipa, waist drum, xun, and pan flute. The mural of "Playing the Pipa Behind the Back" vividly displays the beauty of ancient music and dance. The "Colorful Melodies" section presents historical music and dance activities in Dunhuang and its surrounding areas, including the occasions, scale, and composition of music and dance troupes, as well as the popularity of different dance styles. Classic murals like "Zhang Yichao's Procession" and "The Procession of Lady Song" vividly recreate the lively scenes of ancient music and dance.

On the opening day, Secretary-General Shi Jingwen of the Taiwan Shen Chun Chi Cultural and Educational Foundation guided the attendees through the exhibition, explaining the historical background of the Dunhuang grottoes, the symbolic features of the transformation murals, and the inclusive beauty of Dunhuang music and dance.

The exhibition at Hsuan Chuang University is the third stop of this year's tour and will run until June 20.
