On May 29, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the former residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing to mark the 44th anniversary of her passing.
Soong was one of the founders of the People's Republic of China and served as its Honorary President. The event was organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, which presented a floral tribute to the marble statue of Soong Ching-ling and performed a bowing ceremony.
Attendees included Shen Beili, Communist Party Secretary and Vice-Chairperson of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, as well as Zhang Jiming, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairperson. Deputy Secretaries-General Wu Dianwu, Li Anjin, and Chen Aimin were also present. The ceremony was attended by key officials from various departments and affiliated institutions, staff from the residence management center, representatives of volunteers, and members of the People's Armed Police.
