The Inner Mongolia Group of the "SUNNY" Youth Development Action was jointly held by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and South Korea's third-biggest conglomerate SK Group in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region from May 8 to 14.
Themed "Green Transformation and Youth's Action", the week-long event drew the attendance of 50 excellent young people from China and the Republic of Korea (ROK), who grasped a deep understanding of extraordinary achievements made by Inner Mongolia in the green development, explored the sustainable development approaches, and forged strength for the building of a community with a shared future for mankind through on-site visit, practice-oriented teaching and panel discussion.

Young people of the two nations visited the En'gebei Ecological Demonstration Area and took part in a tree-planting activity. It was the first time for many people of them to come to the desert and witness harsh natural environment. The visit helped them better understand the difficulties of desert management and realize the importance and urgency of ecological conservation.
Attendees said that the plantation of trees is a symbolic gesture of sowing hope, hoping that trees will grow up and safeguard the green land.

Yin Yuzhen, a deputy to the Inner Mongolia People's Congress, Wang Mingjiu, a professor at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, and Liu Xinxin, a professor with the Teaching and Research Department for Society and Ecological Civilization in the Inner Mongolia Party School, gave their thematic lectures titled "Green Dream and My Dream," "Typical Cases in the Precise Governance of Grassland Desertification in Inner Mongolia," and "the Belt and Road Initiative and Inner Mongolia's Development" respectively. The attendance of those lectures and exchange event helped participants learn more about relevant policies and theories and deepened their understanding of the connotation and significance of the green development.

Meanwhile, young people from the two countries also focused their attention on the utilization of sci-tech innovation toward ecological transformation and the unlocking of secrets for the green development. They visited M-Grass Ecology Group to learn more about ecological restoration categories and agricultural technologies. They came to an integrated project base of ecological conservation, desertification prevention and control, and wind-solar power generation to figure out the utilization of new energy and green technology in promoting ecological conservation and economically sustainable development in the desert areas. The inspection tour to globally advanced intelligent production lines in the Chinese dairy company Yili Group further strengthened their dimensional understanding of industrial green transformation.

During their visit to a demonstration base for women's entrepreneurship and employment, young people of the two nations experienced the making of traditional Mongolian clothing buttons and learned more about new approaches as well as practices made in advancing the incubation and development of ethnic cultural industry and in promoting women's employment via handicrafts of intangible cultural heritage.

Before the conclusion of the thematic event, attendees held a topic-sharing session over green transformation, talked about common issues faced with the two nations in the green development and cultural exchanges, and briefed each other about personal feelings through short video and research result presentation. They said that the exchange event further expanded their horizon and consolidated personal conviction in promoting green development with concerted efforts. They agreed that green development is not only technological innovation but also cultural concept elevation, adding that they will work together to explore new green development paths, make contributions to the world's sustainable development, and jointly write a beautiful chapter of the harmonious coexistence between mankind and nature.
Jointly sponsored by the CSCLF and SK Group, the "SUNNY" Youth Development Action's Special Fund adheres to the guiding principle of driving social development through youth's action. It is set to hold a three-year thematic action in terms of volunteer services, personnel training and international exchanges to promote youth's development and further strengthen the people-to-people bond. With the participation of 50 young people from China and the ROK, the Inner Mongolia Group of the "SUNNY" Youth Development Action was held from May 8 to 14 under the theme of "Green Transformation and Youth's Action."
