The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum was held at the UN headquarters in New York of the U.S. from April 15 to 17. At the invitation, the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCFL) sent a delegation to attend the special forum.
Ma Xuliang, Vice-Director of the CSCFL Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, headed the CSCFL delegation and addressed the high-level international forum.
In their speeches at the forum, Youth representatives of the CSCFL focused on its theme, which was "Youth at the Forefront: Advancing the Sustainable Development with Science and Social Inclusiveness." They shared personal views and proposals on employment promotion and the sustainable development in relation to specific public welfare activities of the foundation, and asked social forces worldwide to further strengthen cooperation, build reliable partnership and support the realization of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
During its stay in New York, the CSCFL delegation also met with Felipe Paullier, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Gubregi, Chief of the Asia and the Pacific Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), officials and youth representatives of other countries.
The CSCFL holds a special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The ECOSOC Youth Forum is a consultative platform that focuses on the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and has been held annually to respond to the views and suggestions of youth from all countries on the sustainable development.
